When asked if nervous on the upcoming release of this album, lead singer and song writer Christopher Wade McCracken exclaimed with excitement "Are you kidding?!?!? I've been waiting my whole life for this!! The release can't come soon enough for me!!!!" Released in the year of 2004 the album's significance being in Christopher Wade McCracken's own words during an interveiw "There was so much blood spilt, so many tears cried, so much sweat poured, so many times of being on the top of our game and many times of being on the bottom of it. We had just went through tons of emotion and we wanted to dedicate our debut record of everything we went through in order to get where we are today."
The Album "In Memory" Ment a lot to the members of the group "April Sixth. Loving the tours and the big shows, the sound of satisfied fans."I think a lot of the songs on this album, in one way or another, are about how we all struggle against pain and insanity to find hope and peace.” said by Wade For the members of April Sixth, the album’s title represents a turning point. “We wanted to dedicate this album to all of the steps we took to get where we are,”Christopher Wade McCracken explains during another interveiw. “We wanted to dedicate this album in memory to all of the good times and bad times, the years of hard work, the things we gave up and struggles we overcame. It’s about honoring the past, and moving forward.”
The song "Dear Angel" Has seem to grow to become one of the favorites of the band members and the people around them. The song being writen by Chrisopher Wade McCracken himself while living with his grandma, when he was seventeen. Going through a rough time in his life just like everyone else, staying up late, just him and his guitar. After going through a rough breakup with his as said "First love" this song actually being a letter being written to this "Love" of his. "I didn't understand why we couldn't be together and that just ripped me apart. I know everyone has felt that way one or more times in their life." he said.
The song "Foster." from the same album "In Memory was again written by Christopher Wade McCracken. Was inspired by a fan he befriended on the road. The song being about a girl struggling to fit in with her foster parents. “I had these really intense conversations with this girl about her life that really effected me, I put myself in her shoes to write this particular song."
